Latin is a rich, ancient language, and is still very much alive in the languages that we speak today. It plays a vital role in a classical education, training students in grammar, how a language works, and how to think critically. Learning Latin greatly expands English vocabulary and introduces students to the original work of some of the most influential writers in history. A better understanding of English, scientific, and technical languages is a significant reason in of itself to study Latin. Cornerstone Christian is pleased to offer as an elective Latina Christiana, an introduction to Latin for upper elementary or secondary students. |

Spanish is the fourth most spoken language in the world today and is spoken by about 500 million people. It is the second most spoken language in the United States and the primary language of our neighbor to the south, Mexico. Additionally, Spanish is the most spoken of the Romance languages. Consequently, learning Spanish aids not only in communicating and understanding our Mexican neighbors, but helps in the learning of other Romance languages such as Latin and French. Currently we use Rosetta Stone Spanish language instruction, or other languages may be studied as approved. |
