Ways to Help Out in the Classroom |

The are many ways you can help out in a Cornerstone Classroom. If you would like to help in a classroom on a regular basis, we would like to have you take the Child Protection Course offered periodically by the A&M Church of Christ. Here are some ways you can help: Read to the Children: all of our children, especially the younger ones, enjoy a short break to listen to an intriguing story! Be a substitute teacher: If you are a retired from teaching, or a teacher needing only part time work, you can apply for a position as a substitute. This can be either volunteer or a paid position. Help with a class party: If you are a school parent, you might help your child's teacher with a class party. We have parties for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day and others. Help with an enrichment class: Do you have skill in Spanish, Computing, ASL, Art, or Music? Do you have another talent (cooking, sewing, etc.) that you could use to enrich the lives of our children. From time to time the enrichment teachers can use a helping hand, and we occaisionally like to supplement our enrichment topics with new ones. |

Will You Help be a Baker? |

How do you help our school with your baking? The simplest way is to make a dessert and bring it to the school/church on Saturday, November 17. We have refridgerators available if needed. You may also bring your dessert before church the morning of the 18th. We will photograph your dessert for a slide presentation and auction it during our Feast. A single desserts often can pay for a month's tuition for a scholarship student. Some will pay for a new computer or even more! |

Science Academy usually meets on Fridays during the afternoon (12 pm to 3 pm) . There are 4 groups of 8-15 students that may be combined into 1 group of approximately 40 students or into 2 groups of about 20. Classes meet from 30 to 45 minutes but can meet longer if sceduled ahead. We will be happy to arrange any schedule that we can to fit your needs but we need to arrange it 2 weeks ahead of time. The following is the overall topic calendar for this school year (not all presentations will follow this schedule)
- Life Science: August-November
- Physical Science: November-January
- Earth Science: January-March
- Human Body: March-May
