FAQs

How many names are on your waiting list?

The number of names on the list varies constantly, as some families are added and others have their names removed from the list. In total, there are usually around 100 children on the list that range from infants to five year-olds.

Are any families given priority on the list?

First priority is for children who already have siblings enrolled in the Center. Second priority is determined by the date your child was placed on the waiting list and the waiting list fee was paid.

How long is the typical wait on the list?

The wait varies but is currently approximately 12 to 15 months. The wait depends on several factors such as attrition at the center, the number of infants that are siblings of currently enrolled students, and the time of year. We tend to have more openings June through August of each year than any other time of year, though we do enroll students year-round.

In general, we do not have enrollment openings for 1 year-olds due to limited capacity for that age group.  Therefore, if your child does not get an enrollment offer for infant care your family will likely remain on the waiting list until your child is 2 years old.

What happens when you have an opening for our child?

When an opening is available, a letter is mailed (or e-mailed) to the family that is next on the list whose child is age appropriate for the opening.  That family will be given a deadline to reply to the letter with two options—the family can commit to enroll at the stated date or choose to decline to enroll but remain on the waiting list.  If a family does not respond to the letter, it is assumed they have made other arrangements and they are removed from the waiting list.

If we do not enroll our child at Cornerstone, will we receive a refund of the waiting list fee?

The waiting list fee is non-refundable.

What is your policy on vaccinations?

We do not accept exemptions for recommended childhood vaccinations, religious or otherwise. Medical exemptions will be considered at the approval from our Board of Directors. Children may be on a delayed schedule but must be caught up by their second birthday. Flu and COVID vaccines are highly recommended but are not required to attend our program. Please see the CDC website for recommended vaccines at each age here.
